LOTS of fun this week as we are having a bocce tournament with the Italian 102 students @ the Applauso Italian Center! The red team (Ellis, Stephanie and Vicki) won this Tuesday!
This week was the "making cannoli" week for us! Both of our Italian 102 classes practiced with verb conjugations, learned about Sicily, & made cannoli! Special thanks to our assistant professor Antonio who helped students making the cannoli!
See our intermediate students in action! This Monday they created a "manfestazione culturale" together by listing the things they needed to execute the very interesting festival dei formaggi, la festa del compleanno e la festa del papà! They used verbs similar to piacere (like occorrere, mancare, bastare, and servire)! Here you can see an example of a very fun and engaging class! BRAVISSIMI!!!

Last night the Applauso Italian Learning Center proudly sponsored the Associated Italian American Charities of Maryland Annual Dinner Dance Gala. This annual charity event raises crucial support for many schools, hospitals & non-profit organizations right here in our great state of Maryland!
Last night we resumed our Italian 101 after a short break due to the visit in Italy by Prof. Nicolino Applauso. Thank you to Pat's Select for the delicious pizza! We also had some Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and practiced with adjectives and agreement (describing people)! Grazie to our special guests Antonio e Luca! We also had a great time with the Italian 102 class who practiced with vocabulary of the family with Scrabble in ITALIAN (FAMILY EDITION)!
Check out the new interview of Prof. Applauso at the VALDELSA LETTERARIA Channel. This brief interview with Italian news media is all in Italian language and about his experience in teaching Italian in the U.S. and his recent books and studies on Italian medieval history. Grazie a Francesca Allegri & Maurizio Chinaglia for the invitation to speak to the Valdelsa community in Italy!

Last Friday Prof. Applauso was honored to participate as a guest and interpreter to the final art exposition of the Residenza la Baldi, a new International opportunity for artists, writers, and researchers located in the historic village of Montegiovi, Italy, in southern Tuscany. This Multidisciplinary Residency welcomes individual artists or creative groups working collaboratively. Very grateful to Madeleine and Joe Giordano for making me part of this important initiative in the enchanting village with the wonderful local community.
.Prof. Applauso is very honored to have presented his recent discoveries on the poeta Folgore da San Gimignano in Tuscany Italy by invitation of the Comune:🙏😄 Here's the video of my talk this evening in Italy!www.facebook.com/107327137851569/videos/2412939438849271
