Last Saturday we had a blast in our Beginning Italian class as we made Aperol Spritz and learned about present indicative verbs while familiarizing with the schedule of Italians and its differences with the U.S.

Buona festa dell'Unità italiana (1861-2025)! Today we celebrate the unification of Italy: 164 years as one nation! Italy is a younger country that the United States...did you know it [lo sapevi]?  Very inspiring stories by our four presenters tonight @the Applauso Italian Learning Center. They successfully represented the strives, accomplishments, and leadership of Italian Americans in Law Enforcement in Maryland. Thank you also to our students and supporters for taking part in this breathtaking evening! Co-Director Jeannette made delicious Calzoni! Thanks to Lyla and Luca for assisting with setting up this amazing event!       Italian Americans in Law Enforcement: Breaking the Italian Stereotype. FREE EVENT!! FOOD!! DRINKS! EDUCATION! ITALIAN AMERICAN LIVING HISTORY! Throughout the last century onward, media and entertainment agencies have badly stereotyped the Italian American community as gangsters, dishonest mobsters, and evil individuals tolerant of and prone to violence. The Applauso Italian Learning Center seeks to present a more worthy and accurate representation of Italian Americans by showcasing the important contribution of Italian Americans to police and law enforcement. Through FOUR guest speakers, our local community will be able to learn from their important stories and impactful life experiences and appreciate how Italian Americans have been devoted to fight crime, enforce law and order and better the overall quality of life of many people in Baltimore City and across Maryland. COME JOIN US in TWO WEEKS SATURDAY MARCH 15 @ 6:30pm at the Applauso Italian Learning Center in Timonium!!  |
