The Applauso Italian Learning Center supports education in the Italian American community and today we participated in the Taste of Italy Scholarship Fundraising Dinner at the Little Italy Lodge Foundation in Little Italy Baltimore for the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy. It was great connecting with so many wonderful people including our advanced students Maria and Marianna! What a wonderful day today! Kudos to all the students and honoree Paul Rao!

The documentary explores the riveting life and times of Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) and his soaring masterpiece; view the documentary on Dante on PBS FOR FREE (it is available until the end of June); CHECK IT OUT HERE: https://www.pbs.org/show/dante-inferno-to-paradise/   KUDOS to our students David & Vicky who used Artificial intelligence to illustrate their creative short story in Italian and Gianni Rodari's La macchina ammazzaerrori. This shows how AI could be used in connection to language learning. The Applauso Italian Learning Center is always on the edge of new technological trends in learning the beautiful Italian language!         Great time with the advanced beginning class; we are learning the imperative mood so students presented their favorite Italian regional recipes and brough samples: We had frittelle agli zucchini, arancine siciliane, biscotti alla ricotta la Pizza Margherita! FANTASTICO!     Another fun potluck today with the Saturday Italian 101 class.The students brought delicious homemade cakes and biscotti and also some arancini from Di Pasquale's Marketplace! Grazie a tutti for graduating from the level 1! Next Italian 102 class will start in a few weeks on Saturday morning!        Yesterday we had lots of fun with our beginning classes as they practice describing people in Italian with the game Guess who!   Wonderful potluck last night at the end of Italian 101 in prof.ssa Milazzo's class! We had homemade Lasagne alla bolognese; rigatoni alla norma with eggplant, salads, and delicious appetizers, Italian cookies from DiPasquale and Vaccaro's Italian Pastry Shop-Little Italy , fine wine and limoncello! GRAZIE A TUTTI!   |
