Advanced Italian Language/Cultural Course (10-weeks package: 1 Trimester)

The purpose of Advanced Italian language sequence is to provide a sound basis for communicating effectively and accurately in Italian beyond the beginning and intermediate levels. If you already have studied Italian for more than 2 years and are familiar with Italian language (present, past, and future tenses, as well as with the subjunctive and conditional moods) and culture (a good understanding of cultural info), but would like to brush up and perfect your Italian you are ready for the advanced level!!! You will continue to strengthen listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Italian and a deeper understanding of Italian culture though structured lessons, hands-on workshops in cooking lessons (exclusive signature dishes), as well as literature (Dante’s Comedy, Boccaccio’s Decameron, Petrarch’s Canzoniere, The commedia dell’Arte, Goldoni’s theater, Luigi Pirandello, Alberto Moravia, Giuseppe Ungaretti, Camilleri’s mystery novels, etc.) as well as music (classical, opera, folk and modern trends in Italian music), cinema (Silent movie, Neorealism, Spaghetti Westerns, Romantic Italian comedy, the Commedia all’italiana, etc.) as well as more advanced Italian cultural topics that involve history, politics, and geography.

Classes will take place once a week in the evening after work hours. Each lesson will be 1 ½ hour long and will comprise of (A) one hour language and cultural lesson followed by (B) half-hour workshop. There will be 10 lessons in each trimester.

Tuition for one trimester (10 lessons) is ONLY $290 per student.
